Will Senator Clinton's friends in labor and elsewhere stand by her as her campaign hits some rough sailing?
The American Federation of Teachers, which reported spending about $880,000 for mailers and radio ads in support of Mrs. Clinton in Iowa and New Hampshire, is gingerly stepping into Nevada, which votes on Jan. 19.
The AFT, reported today that it is pumping about $95,000 into radio ads for Mrs. Clinton in Nevada.
It's the first reported independent expenditure directed at Nevada in the presidential race, though some low-level spending could be under the radar.
The filing says the AFT's radio ads are directed at women over 25, the same audience the union targeted in Iowa and New Hampshire.
It will be interesting to see in coming days whether Mrs. Clinton's allies invest as much as they did in Iowa and New Hampshire, whwther they dial back, or jump ship altogether.
